As Nova Scotians, we are proud of our work. We are stewards of the offshore and we care about the safe and responsible development of oil and gas resources. It’s who we are and what we do.
We aim to achieve excellence in all areas of our regulatory mandate. With this comes our commitment to continuous improvement. We invest heavily in building and maintaining the technical competencies and expertise of our staff through training programs offered locally, as well as other oil and gas centres globally.
It is vital that we have the right knowledge, information and data to enable us to make informed decisions. We continuously learn and seek input from others by participating on collaborative committees and working groups created locally, nationally and globally, as well as by gathering local knowledge from indigenous communities and key stakeholders.
We’re made up of several teams, each with our own set of responsibilities to ensure regulatory compliance of any oil and gas activities that may take place in the Canada-Nova Scotia offshore area. We work collaboratively at all levels to make sure any activity offshore is completed with the safety of offshore workers and protection of the environment being paramount.
We apply our expertise in regulating the life cycle of petroleum-related activities in the Canada-Nova Scotia offshore area and ensure that safety of workers and environmental protection are paramount.
We are trusted and recognized for the high standards to which we hold the oil and gas industry accountable so that petroleum-related activities in our offshore area are carried out safely and responsibly.
