Notice of Six Fundamental Decisions Respecting Calls for Bids NS18-1 and NS18-2

Pursuant to subsection 32(2) of the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Resources Accord Implementation Act and subsection 32(2) of the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Resources Accord Implementation (Nova Scotia) Act (Accord Acts), the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (the Board) is providing notice of six fundamental decisions respecting Calls for Bids NS18-1 and NS18-2 made on March 21, 2018.  These six fundamental decisions are:

1. the making of a Call for Bids (NS18-1);
2. the Terms and Conditions of an Exploration Licence (NS18-1);
3. the Terms and Conditions of a Significant Discovery Licence (NS18-1).
4. the making of a Call for Bids (NS18-2);
5. the Terms and Conditions of an Exploration Licence (NS18-2), and;
6. the Terms and Conditions of a Significant Discovery Licence (NS18-2).

In accordance with subsection 32(1) of the Accord Acts, the Board provided notice of these six fundamental decisions to both the federal Minister of Natural Resources and the provincial Minister of Energy on March 22, 2018. 

In order to move forward on the six fundamental decisions and issue Calls for Bids NS18-1 and NS18-2, the Board requires Ministerial approval. 

The federal Minister of Natural Resources and the provincial Minister of Energy provided notice to the Board that the implementation of these six fundamental decisions is suspended in accordance with section 34 of the Accords Acts for a period ending May 22, 2018.
