The approved Benefits Plan and Decision Report obligate the Operator and its Contractors for the entirety of the Project. The Board’s monitoring program includes, among other things, review of procurement activities, education & training and research & development plans, Industrial Benefits reports which provide information related to actual benefits accrued to Nova Scotia and Canada, and other plans and reports related to additional Benefits Plan commitments.

The Board may conduct formal audits of the Operator’s processes and/or industrial benefits monitoring and reporting requirements, if deemed necessary.  Industrial Benefits audits are conducted to determine accordance with the approved Benefits Plan, the Board’s Decision Report and the Accord legislation.
