CNSOPB issues two Exploration Licences

(Halifax, NS) Today the Canada - Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board issued Exploration Licences 2417 and 2418 to Ammonite Corporation and Catheart Energy, Inc.  The companies were announced on July 10, 2008 as the successful bidders for Call for Bids NS07-1. The Exploration Licences (EL) take effect today, and carry a maximum term of 9 years. 

In accordance with the Accord Acts an EL confers, with respect to the portion of the offshore area to which the licence applies:

  1. the right to explore,

  2. the exclusive right to drill and test for petroleum, and

  3. the exclusive right to obtain a production licence.
